Mahahual is not alone, many people is helping in many ways, e.g, a strong supportive group from Playa del Carmen commanded by Claudia Hurtado Valenzuela, an EMT volunteer for Cruz Roja and the instigator of the project, and also people from Luna Blue. They raised over $10,000 US from friends around the world, of which they spent about $3,000 on the donations already delivered. They specifically promised people that they will purchase items and deliver them themselves.
They are continuing to raise money primarily through postings on www.playa.info , TripAdvisor.com, their own blog (www.playazone.wordpress.com) and numerous websites that have now linked back to their paypal announcement.
Have a look to the sites forums to know and get in touch with that wonderful people.
No one is taking a dime from the contributions. All, time, efforts, trucks,
gasoline, administrative costs etc. are being donated. 100% of the donated funds are being spent for supplies to be delivered to
Mahahual. They have even been contacted by schools in the US asking if their
students can do fundraising drives for Mahahual.

Nadie se lleva nada por su contribución. Todo el tiempo, esfuerzos, camiones, gasolina, costes administrativos ect están siendo donados. El 100% de los fondos donados han ido a parar a Mahahual. Incluso han contactado con colegios de Estados Unidos para recaudar más.

De verdad estoy realmente conmovida de ver las fotos despues del huracan Dean en el paraiso mahahual. No solo senti tristeza por el lugar si no por su gente. Desafortunadamente, tuvieron que emigrar ya que era el campo de trabajo de muchos de ellos,pero estoy realmente segura que volvera a ser el mismo :)Amigos mahahual animo. Les dejo mi cel: por si necesitan algo. Estoy en chetumal.Ojala este fin pueda ver alguno de ustedes ya que no he tenido la oportunidad de ir.
